Five-fold ministry focus

  We are committed to being a church that is Christ-Centered, Bible-Based, and Spirit-Led. Because of this, we believe all of our efforts should be centered around these guiding principles.

Ephesians 4 speaks of the Five-Fold Ministry and how God uses various leadership roles for the equipping of the saints and the building up of the body of Christ. At Freedom Worship Assembly, while we affirm the biblical roles of apostles, prophets, pastors, evangelists, and teachers as foundational to the early church, we do not believe in the continuation of the office of apostle or prophet in the same authoritative sense today. Instead, we believe God still uses apostolic and prophetic giftings in the church to strengthen, encourage, and guide, always in submission to the authority of Scripture. 

 At Freedom Worship Assembly, our use of the term "Five-Fold Ministry Focus" refers not to church offices, but to five key pillars of ministry that define our calling and mission as a local body of believers. These five areas are where we believe God has uniquely assigned and positioned us to serve. 

At Freedom Worship Assembly our ministry focus is Five-Fold:

We Are Empowered for Service through PRAYER

We believe that we can do anything after we pray, but we can do nothing until we pray! We are empowered to do the work of God through our communication with God. We have a Corporate Prayer Meeting every Monday at 7:00pm, we host two 21 Days of Prayer each year, and we offer a weekly Prayer Call each Thursday Morning. Prayer is our priority! 

We Equip the Saints through the WORD

We believe that God has given us everything we need for right living in His WORD! Thus we are committed to being a Word Church. Our Worship Experiences are centered around the preaching and teaching of the Gospel. We offer Freedom Tribes (Small Groups), weekly Bible study, and many other teaching opportunities throughout the year to help people grow in the Word of God! 

We Exalt the Savior through WORSHIP

We believe that we exist to worship and praise our God! We will always be committed to not only being a Word congregation, but being a worshipping congregation as well! Our Worship Experiences are exciting, energetic, and engaging. They are designed to help encounter God through worship! 

We Embrace the Suffering through OUTREACH

We believe that we don't have "service", but we are called to do "service." We are committed to being the hands and feet of Jesus through Outreach. Monthly we host "Serve Saturday's" that are outreach projects throughout the city of Houston. We also have Freedom Outreach, which serves as the arm of our Church that engages in national and international partnerships meeting needs and giving relief where we can! 

We Engage with Society through COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT 

We believe that God wants us to have dominion in the earth, which causes us to not only do ministry but to engage the marketplace. Through our Community Development Corporation we are focused on education, job creation, hunger eradication, and urban development in Houston's inner-city neighborhoods.
