Pastor Toddrick D. Johnson

As the Senior Pastor of Freedom Worship Assembly Baptist Church located in Houston, Texas, Rev. Toddrick D. Johnson has dedicated his life to serving the Lord and serving others. As a native Houstonian, Pastor Johnson was nurtured in the faith at Saint Paul Baptist Church, and it was there that he first experienced the redemptive power of Jesus Christ. As a result of his spiritual growth under the guidance of Pastor T.O. Berry, Pastor Johnson received his license to preach at the age of 16 and later received his ordination at Greater True Light Missionary Baptist Church. Like the biblical story of young Samuel, Pastor Johnson's call to ministry, was a divine call that altered the course of his life and ministry.

Throughout 26 years of faithful ministry service, Pastor Johnson has served in several pastoral roles; such as Pastor of Discipleship, Campus Pastor, Associate Pastor and now Senior Pastor. With each of these positions Pastor Johnson has developed an even greater sense of servant leadership and an increased resolve to be the shepherd to God's people through compassionate, honest and visionary ministry. Pastor Johnson's ministry is characterized by a love of God's Word, a passion for worship and a desire to bring hope and restoration to the communities he serves through outreach and community development.

Pastor Johnson received his Bachelor of Arts in Leadership from Faith International University & Seminary in Tacoma, Washington and graduated Cum Laude. Pastor Johnson's academic preparation has given him a strong theological foundation and has allowed him to become a better teacher, leader and disciple. He is currently pursing a Master of Divinity degree at the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) which is known for producing servant leaders who are connected to the Black Church Tradition and are passionate about social justice and academic excellence.

A product of the African American Baptist tradition, Pastor Johnson's ministry is guided by a commitment to Biblically based preaching, community development and the overall transformation of the individual and the community. Pastor Johnson believes that ministry is not limited to the local church, but rather ministry should be about engaging the world with the Gospel and being a source of healing, hope and justice in Jesus' name.

Pastor Johnson is blessed to be able to minister alongside his loving wife, Mrs. Stacy Elaine Carraway-Johnson, and their son, Toddrick Johnson II. Together as a family, they are united in their desire to love God, serve people and build the Kingdom one life at a time.
